Personally, I really enjoy watching documentaries. There's something about them to me, no matter what the subject be, that are so interesting. Things you never knew you could connect with, you do. Not only can you learn a lot by watching documentaries, but I thoroughly get enjoyment out of watching them. I have seen a fair share of documentaries and I have to say that I tend to aim to watch documentaries about music or musicians. I have a huge passion for music and I've always been into music my whole life so watching artists I like or have heard of, makes it so intriguing to watch. Watching documentaries can definitely help me write better because seeing things versus just reading something puts things into much more of a perspective that can help me think of words and how I feel emotionally to it. Since I've already stated my love for music, of course the "20 Feet From Stardom" documentary struck my interest! Watching that made me have a deeper connection with music. It basically shows the lifestyle of a backup singer and how they feel and why they are.. well, back up singers. I think that's something people do think about too when they're at show. Why are they singing backup, they obviously must be good, but why aren't they trying to be in the lime light? It came to my understanding that being a backup singer is so much more than what people think. It's their responsibility to make the show and carry the show with energy. They have to work so hard and don't get the full on credit for what they should. Some though say they don't want the bigger music life or solo singing life. They're comfortable there. Some can't promote themselves and rather be the supporting voice for someone else and that's okay. After watching this documentary, it pushes me to pursue what makes me happy. Not everything is definitely going to be easy on the road there, but that's what makes it worth it. I'm not just saying this as a music point of view either, just through whatever in life. Go do it, and be it all the way.
